The People’s Projects returns after a three-year break

The National Lottery Community Fund has re-launched The People’s Projects, which provides important funding for UK communities.

It allows the general public to make the final decision on how the funding should be distributed. A share of over £4 million is available to UK groups that apply.

Groups can apply for funding of up to £70,000 to benefit their area and have a genuine impact on the lives of those within the community.

95 shortlisted groups will be featured in a national campaign in May 2023 and a public vote will decide the winners from that.

The People’s Project initially began in 2005 and has awarded approximately £45 million to thousands of communities.

They are partnering with ITV, UTV and the Sunday Mail to raise awareness of this programme and give a bigger voice to the groups and their stories.

Blondel Cluff CBE, Chair of The National Lottery Community Fund, said that they were delighted to bring back The People’s Projects and that the programme delivers vital support to communities all over the UK but also shows the general public how much effort goes into these projects.

The deadline to apply is 12 pm on 7 October 2022 but interested groups should apply as soon as possible, as it may close sooner if a large volume of applications is received.
