Corporate Tax

Corporate tax advice for ambitious UK businesses

Staying compliant with the UK’s Corporation Tax regime is an ongoing challenge. Keeping pace with legislative change, managing HMRC’s increasing appetite for enquiry and making sure your business is genuinely tax-efficient at the same time is harder still. The two things need to be handled together.

Whether you’re dealing with iXBRL tagging, preparing for a transaction, claiming R&D or capital allowances or building out a corporate tax strategy that works across a group, you need an adviser who can handle both sides of the work.

Frequently Asked Questions faq

How early should we involve you in a corporate transaction?

Before heads of terms are agreed, where possible. The structure of an acquisition, disposal or reorganisation carries tax consequences that are often difficult to unwind once the deal is documented. Early involvement protects the planning options that later involvement closes off.

How do you handle group structures and international elements?

Group taxation — group relief, surrender of losses, consortium relief, intra-group transfers, controlled foreign companies and transfer pricing where it applies — is core to our experience. UK-side issues are handled directly by our team. Where local advice is needed in another jurisdiction, we work through the PrimeGlobal network.

What is your approach to tax planning?

Considered and commercial. We help clients claim the reliefs the legislation is designed to support and structure transactions in ways that are consistent with both the letter and the spirit of the law. We do not promote arrangements that fall outside it.
